Narith has been coaching and playing tennis for many years. He has shadowed great coaches such as Vic Braden, Steve Smith, Denis Van Der Meer early on to set the precedent for what was to come. Narith is eager to learn and to teach those that do not have access to coaching. He took that initial start to work on himself and played #1 Singles in high school and went to the state Championships twice losing to the #1 and #3 seeds who were top 10 in the country. When he graduated high he was in the top 25 in singles and top 15 in doubles in the country. As his playing matured, he found himself at the junior national level of USTA and also started qualifying in the JL-2 level of the ITF to then age into and play into main draws of numerous ITF Prize money tournaments ranging from M5-M15.
As life set in and a need to establish a career came, Narith came to find a much more satisfying role in teaching the game than competing. He took the accumulated information and applied the knowledge of past coaches he studied under. He traveled to coach at multiple clubs and privately under his own name as an independent. All the while achieving certifications in the USPTA/PTR, USNTA , Great Base Tennis Association. With success ranging in all ages and levels, he had multiple players advance their high school and college careers into all Divisions from NAIA-D1.

He also competed on the men’s professional satellite circuit until a severe back injury forced him to retire from competing at the Qualifiers at Wimbledon. He trained closely with esteemed coach Lennie Heppell, a specialized movement “guru”, who also worked with sports greats Bjorn Borg, Steffi Graf, Kevin Keegan and Peter Shilton.
John joined his personal coaches of many years, Keith Reynolds (National Development Coach) and Ashley Broomhead, and coached at the Watchorn Tennis Club in Derbyshire, England where he trained over 20 national players and champions.
After moving to the United States in 1984, John took on the role of director and manager of the former Tennis 128 club in Burlington, Massachusetts. There he developed and managed all junior programs as well as organized competitive team and social tennis programs for adults.
Having spent the seven of the last years at the Marcus Lewis Tennis Center, five as High Performance Director, John looks forward to creating a great environment on and off the court!

The Marcus Lewis Tennis Center is an organization that is managed and directed by teaching professional, Marcus Lewis.
Marcus was your typical baseball, basketball and football player when he reached high school, but he soon began dropping those sports when he discovered that he could play tennis. Although he had virtually no tennis experience, by his junior year he quickly rose to play #1 singles for the team, and by the end of his senior season, he had made it to semi-finals of the state tournament.
During his second year of college at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Marcus had walked on to their Division 1 roster which had been in the top 25 of the NCAAs the year before. Ultimately deciding to leave school to pursue his dream of playing professionally, he spent the next few years training back near his home in Massachusetts before traveling through Europe and Northern Africa to play on the circuit during the mid-90’s.
Upon returning home, a few years later Marcus started the Marcus Lewis Tennis Center in 1997. The program began as a small seasonal tennis operation in a condo complex in Acton. It has since grown into the largest and most comprehensive tennis program in the area. The Marcus Lewis Tennis Center has inspired other enterprises that can be seen at marcuslewisenterprises.com.
Although Marcus still enjoys playing for fun, he feels the most enjoyment from watching others succeed and giving everyone an opportunity to enjoy the great life-long sport of tennis, hence the tagline “Tennis For EVERYONE”.
