HAPPY HOUR MATCH PLAY

What is Happy Hour Match Play?
No, it has nothing to do with alcohol!  The MLTC identified some court times that were quieter than others and in response, used those blocks of time to build low-cost match play opportunities.

What is different about this program?
As is often the case with “happy hour” activities, the pricing is lower (see below).  We have a member/non-member rate so that non-members may participate similar to our mixed doubles round robins on Friday and Saturday nights.  This is also a mixed-gender league that is based solely on level.  Our goal is to make it so that you walk away feeling as though you had a fun, competitive match.

What is the schedule?
The chart below outlines the format and the times.  The program will kick off on SUNDAY, MARCH 3RD:

Happy Hour Match Play is for men and women of similar levels to play fun, competitive matches in both singles and doubles throughout the week.

What’s the cost?
That’s the best part!  All Happy Hour matches are for 1.5 hours and the cost for doubles is only $10 for members or $12 for non-members.  If you like singles, the cost is just $18 for members or $20 for non-members.  Both players in singles and each team in doubles must bring a can of balls to each match.  The winning team keeps the new can.

What’s the commitment?
Registration is week to week, so you can play when you want.

How can I be assured of having a competitive match?
The match-ups are arranged individually by our coordinator using our Mass Tennis Association software.  Although it’s not a league, scores are reported and input so that players have a constantly adjusted or “dynamic” rating.  This helps us to accurately know a player’s level.  The stronger your rating is, the tougher the competition will be.  If you are a 4.0 player who registers for the 2.75-3.5+ session on Sundays, you will be only be paired with someone of similar ability.
